The Fall College Fair was an event where Students, Parents, PTSA, MC Alumni and Community had the opportunity to meet with representatives from public and private universities and colleges, vocational & technical schools, and the military. This event gave all attendees direct communication with admissions personnel to ask questions, address concerns, obtain information regarding postsecondary education.

It takes a village to raise a child; and it takes a community to throw the biggest picnic in town! Thanks to our neighborhood supporters we opened our doors, 8/22/09 from 11:00 AM-4:00PM. Opportunities were provided to join our parent and student organizations, tour the campus, join clubs and teams, enjoy hot off the grill chicken, ribs, hamburgers and hot dogs while the youngest played in the bounce house and slides, before enjoying snow cones and cotton candy.

Freshman Orientation affords opportunities for our new Rockets to become Miami Central's stakeholders. Our freshmen and their parents are introduced to the administrators, receive their schedules, meet with teachers and visit their classrooms.

- Blood Drive Gallery - 2009 - 2010 - Click Here
The Health Science Academy (HOSA) sponsored the October 2009 school blood drive in conjunction with the Community Blood Centers of South Florida and MDCPS. The blood drive was a huge success with over 75 student & staff members donating blood. Donating blood is simple, safe and rewarding. Students that donated blood received refreshments, pizza, a T-shirt, (5) Community Service Hours and the opportunity to apply for a scholarship.

Administered by the Inter-Club Council, the Club Fair encourages more students to get involved. The fair was held in the lower fish bowl during first and second lunch, December 10. Prospective members received club information sheets highlighting club activities and meeting times.

- AOIT Magnet Open House Gallery - 2009 - 2010 - Click Here
Our AOIT Magnet program hosted “An Evening with the Stars” Open House on Tuesday, November 17th. The well attended event showcased the many opportunities available to students in our AOIT Magnet program. The evening included a meet & greet with parents, teachers & community partners, magnet classroom visitations and a tour of our new campus.

- Senior Breakfast Gallery - - 2009 - 2010 - Click Here
The class of 2010 participated in the senior breakfast on Thursday, January 13, 2010. The theme for this year's senior breakfast was "Winter Wonderland". At this event; seniors socialized, ate scrumptious foods, and danced the day away at the Newport Beachside Hotel and Resort in Miami Beach. The senior breakfast is truly a rite of passage for seniors attending Miami Central Senior High School.

- Shoes have Soul Gallery - 2009 - 2010 - Click Here
On November 20, 2009 the students of Professor Carolina Lorenzo-Romeu's Humanities course at Miami-Dade College West Campus joined Ms. Beth Goldstein and her art students at Miami Central Senior High School for a joint community service project that benefitted both the students of Miami-Dade County and the children of Haiti. Students designed and decorated canvas shoes that were donated to the needy children in Haiti.

On February 3, 2010, Miami Central Senior High hosted the 2010 High School National Signing Day Event. On this day, students from across the country make one of the biggest decisions of their lives and sign letters-of-intent to attend College. This year’s signees were: Brandon Gainer; University of Kentucky, Derrick Knowles & Patrick Graham; Carson Newman University, Marcus Fairley; Bethune-Cookman, Jamar McClain, Jeffrey Godfrey, Jose Jose, Joshua Reese & LeBrandon Richardson; University of Central Florida, Shawn Brown; Florida A&M University These young men have demonstrated hard work and dedication and prepare for the next chapter of their lives.
