for AOIT & AOF *JUNIORS

STUDENT BENEFITS

REQUIRED COMMITMENTS

Recommended Juniors MUST commit to the following:

-Agree to work the entire 4 to 6 week internship (without excessive absences)

-Adhere to workplace policies and procedures  ( including attire and time schedule)

-Complete the pre post NAF Summer Internship Seminar and Weekly Reflection Log

-Parent/Guardian attend the MCSHS AOIT Summer 2018 Internship Consent Meeting

 

REQUIREMENTS

Registered on https://aymiami.getmyinterns.org/Account/Register

Updated resume

Enrolled as a full-time Junior or Senior

Unweighted GPA of 2.5 or better at time of application

Excellent school attendance

Parent/Guardian Internship Cooperative agreement on page 15 of the tool kit for participation

Liability Waiver on page 16 for Hybrid or in-person internship

Student accident insurance by the beginning of 2021-2022 school year and before they report to their intended internship (can be purchased here: https://www.hsri.com/K12_Enrollment/Main/browse.asp

Placed in an internship by May 15, 2021

 

Self-matched students

Students may find their own placement. We encourage them to do so they are placed in a field most aligned to their post-secondary goals.

These students who intend to find their own internship must direct their supervisor to register at aymiami.getmyinterns.org and submit the Internship Cooperative Agreement. This agreement is on page nine of the Internship Provider Handbook must be signed AND executed after the provider who has agreed to host one of your students who has registered on the internship site: https://aymiami.getmyinterns.org

 

Program Timeline

FEBRUARY 10- March 31, 2021: Student/Provider Registration and Approval

APRIL 2, 2021 DEADLINE: Provider job postings to be entered for student consideration for the 2021-2022 school year

APRIL 5- May 15, 2021: Student Internship Interviews and placements completed

MAY 15, 2021 DEADLINE: Student Internship Placements Finalized

MAY 30, 2021: Internship Course Codes included in the Student’s schedule

AUGUST 2021: Students report to the internship site beginning the second week of the Fall semester and continue until May 2022.
