District Wellness Policy
The District is committed to providing a healthy environment for students and staff within the school environment, recognizing that individuals must be physically, mentally, and socially healthy in order to promote wellness and academic performance.
Mental Health Services
In accordance with Senate Bill 7026, the Mental Health Assistance Plan was created to assist school districts in establishing or expanding school -based mental health care.
Miami-Dade County Public Schools' (M-DCPS) Department of Mental Health Services was developed to coordinate District and community resources in an effort to deliver evidence-based mental health services and treatment for M-DCPS students.
Mental health challenges among children and adolescents can affect the way students typically learn, behave, or handle their emotions, which in turn can cause challenging situations while working through their daily activities.
According to the Florida College System, by 2020, 65 percent of all jobs in Florida will require postsecondary education. It's never too early for parents to save for college. In fact, the earlier that a family begins saving, the lower the cost per month.
Florida Prepaid College Plan offers five prepaid tuition plans to fit a variety of budgets. More information on each plan can be found on the following flyers.
District Full-Time Virtual School
Miami-Dade Online Academy is the district's full-time school that provides a compr3ehensive K-12 online curriculum for students. Parents and students must apply,. qualify, and attend a face-to-face orientation training. All students are welcome to apply. All students who reside in Miami-Dade County are eligible to participate.
