Our Intensive Math & Reading programs, coupled with across the curriculum support have meant that more of our students than ever are performing at grade level. This has allowed us to dramatically increase the number of Dual Enrollment, Advanced Placement and Honors courses as well as Electives programs available at our school. Our students have the opportunity to pursue career interests through an expanded offering of Academy & Magnet programs. We encourage our students and their parents to explore the many opportunities available at Miami Central.

Miami Central H.S. offers a wide variety of challenging academic courses & elective programs. This year we offered at total of 35 advanced academic courses. Our Dual Enrollment Program through Florida International University allows our students to earn tuition free college credit as a student at Miami Central. We are very proud of the growth & progress our students have made this year at Miami Central.

There are a few changes that I wanted to make parents & students aware of for the coming school year. District-wide, high schools, like Miami Central will have new opening & closing of school hours. Students will be expected to be in their classrooms by 7:20am. Dismissal time will now be 2:20pm. Central continues to be a mandatory uniform school. Cell phone & IPod use are not allowed in our classrooms. We have high expectations of all of our students and look forward to their continued success.

Miami Central offers a number of unique opportunities to our students. .This year our students had the opportunity to take the CISCO CCENT exam and the Adobe Certified Associates test in Photoshop. Next year we will add Dreamweaver. Our industry certificate programs in Networking, Digital Design & Web Design prepare our students to be career qualified upon graduation. Vocational students in the Tech Studies program can earn the MasterCam certification. We also offer other career-centered elective courses & programs like Fine Arts, Computer Art, Automotive, Child Care, Culinary Operations, & Health Services. Students can apply the job skills gained at Miami Central through our OJT program. Whatever interest a student has, they can pursue it at Miami Central.
